Whitewater Rafting Permits for California's North Fork Stanislaus River
The following river permit and whitewater rafting information was provided by The Stanislaus National Forest service. Please use "Leave No Trace" ethics on your visit to the North Fork, so that others may find it as beautiful as you did. Visit their Forest River Sports Guide for additional opportunities in the Forest.
Whitewater Rafting Permits
The Stanislaus National Forest service does not currently require permits
for whitewater rafting on the North Fork Stanislaus River, unless you are
a commercial outfitter. Whitewater rafters and kayakers are responsible
for insuring that they have the proper skills, experience and equipment
to safely navigate this Class IV river. To prevent overcrowding on the river,
boaters are encouraged to alternate their departures at put-in and take-out
with commercial rafting trips. Please contact the Calaveras Ranger District or Calaveras
Big Trees State Park for further information.
